Crafting digital experiences: LTCC and BertO engage USI students in an immersive haptics workshop

Lugano, 4 May 2026 – LTCC and BertO hosted an innovative workshop on Haptics and Digital Communication for USI students.

The Lifestyle Tech Competence Center (LTCC) and our associate member, BertO, organized a dedicated workshop at the BertO showroom in Lugano (Via Besso 42). The session welcomed students from the Master in Digital Fashion Communication at USI – Università della Svizzera italiana, led by Professor Lorenzo Cantoni.

The morning was dedicated to exploring the intersection of craftsmanship and technology, focusing on a central question: “How do you make someone feel a fabric through a screen?”

Immersed in an environment surrounded by fabric swatches and high-quality upholstery details, participants engaged in an “outside-of-a-classroom” experience. The workshop provided students with a unique opportunity to witness how design shapes every stage of the production process—from material selection to the final product—and the subsequent challenge of translating these tangible experiences into a compelling online journey.

The LTCC team, represented by the Competence Center Coordinator, Alberto De Zaiacomo, expresses sincere gratitude to BertO for their exceptional hospitality and collaboration. We extend our special thanks to Filippo Berto, as well as to Professor Lorenzo Cantoni, Francesca Manna (LTCC UX Researcher), and Joanna Liu for their invaluable contribution in making this educational journey possible.

This initiative underscores LTCC’s commitment to fostering innovation by bridging the gap between academic research and industry excellence, continuing our mission to nurture the next generation of talent within the lifestyle tech ecosystem.

Stay tuned for more updates on our collaborative projects as we continue to push the boundaries of digital fashion communication!
